Upload Image

Use your own images for editing or as style references.

What is Upload?

The Upload feature lets you bring your own images into SpriteCook. You can use uploaded images either for editing (making changes to them) or as references (creating new assets in a similar style).

This is perfect when you have existing artwork, concept art, or specific visual references you want to work with or build upon.

What You Can Upload

Existing sprites: Upload your hand-drawn or commissioned sprites to edit or use as reference
Concept art: Use sketches or concept art as references for generating final game assets
Style references: Upload images that represent the art style you want to achieve
Game assets: Import assets from other sources to modify or create variations

How to Upload

1

Click the image icon in the prompt input field

2

Select an image file from your computer (PNG, JPG, WebP supported)

3

Choose whether to use it for Edit or Reference

4

Enter your prompt and generate your new asset

Edit vs Reference

Use for Edit

Choose Edit when you want to modify the uploaded image itself. The AI will make changes directly to your image based on your prompt.

Example: "Remove the background" or "Change armor color to blue"

Use as Reference

Choose Reference when you want to create something new in the same style as your uploaded image. The AI uses it as inspiration for the art style.

Example: "Create a wizard character in this style"

Best Practices

Use clear, high-quality images for best results

Images with transparent backgrounds work great for sprite editing

For style references, images with clear artistic direction yield better consistency

Keep uploaded images under 10MB for optimal processing speed
